Lounge chair and ottoman, model 670 and 671, designed in 1956, manufactured by Vitra, Weil am Rhein, ca. 2015. Cast aluminum and sheet steel, partly black, painted, curved plywood in cherry, premium leather in smoke-blue upholstered with foam and quilted, and with hook connections to bucket seat, hard rubber buffers, lounge chair with movable five-star base, stool with fixed four-star base. Original manufacturer's label and certificate available.
The lounge chair with ottoman is probably the best-known of all the designs by the Eames couple and has been in production without interruption since 1956. Literature: Literatur: E. Wilhide: Stühle.
